The Veggie Burger Lawyers
There's a new commercial out for Burger King's Veggie Burger. The ad shows people enthusiastically involved in a taste test. They are serving the likes of a delicious burger. As they are eating away, the announcer informs them they are eating a meatless burger, a veggie burger indeed. The folks in this taste test are all astonished. How can that be, they exclaim. We had no idea our burger was meatless.
All of this hype over a meatless burger reminds me of the lawyers who climb on top of an 18 wheeler, hawking their skills. One call, that's all. Life is so easy. Just make the call and you will get millions in compensation. Not so fast!
Or, what about the lawyer's TV ads that say they are there just for you. But when you sign up, you never see or meet the lawyer and have no clue what is going on in your case. And when you inquire, they say they “will get back with you” and never do or the staff gets angry at you for your desire to know what is going on in your case.
So the hyped up veggie burger is Burger King's way of saying you are getting what looks like a real hamburger, but it is far different once you “chow down”. There is nothing wrong eating a meatless burger if one choses to do so. Be careful. The lawyers who pound their chest on TV or on billboards are only “veggie burger” lawyers trying to act like the real thing. All this advertising reminds me of the Wendy's commercial of old where the old lady kept saying “Where's the beef?” You might want to ask yourself that question before you sign up with the “Veggie Burger” promising lawyer.
